Project Overview

Client: Dexter Lake Club Band
Industry: Wedding / Live Music
Location: Brooklyn
Project Type: Brand Story Video Series for Organic + Paid Social

Campaign: POV: This Is What Happens When You Hire a Real Band

Goal:

After spending significant time and money on traditional social media marketing that delivered content but not clarity—or the right kind of clients—Dexter Lake Club Band wanted a fresh approach. The goal was to create a storytelling-driven video series that would cut through the noise, define a clear point of view, and attract couples who genuinely love live music and wanted that concert-like energy for their wedding.

The Story

Dexter Lake Club Band came to Working Wonders Media wanting to strengthen their online presence and attract more of their ideal clients—couples who genuinely love live music, go to shows, and want that same energy and experience on the dance floor at their wedding.

They weren’t just looking for more views. They were looking for a clearer point of view—something that would communicate the feeling of hiring a real band, not just a wedding vendor.

The Approach

Rather than creating traditional promotional videos, we took a documentary-style, story-first approach and built a short-form series that felt like an insider’s perspective.

The concept became:
POV: This Is What Happens When You Hire a Real Band.

We focused on:

  • Emotion over polish

  • Experience over features

  • Culture over sales language

Using a mix of recycled performance footage, photos, and fresh on-screen storytelling, we created a series of videos that felt authentic, energetic, and rooted in real moments—mirroring what it actually feels like to be in the room when the band is playing.

The Films

A four-part brand story series designed for:

  • Organic Instagram content

  • Paid social advertising

  • Ongoing brand positioning

Each piece highlighted a different facet of the experience—connection, energy, musicianship, and crowd response—without needing heavy production or reshoots.

How It’s Being Used

  • Organic Instagram posting

  • Paid ads targeting engaged couples

  • Brand positioning and messaging foundation

  • Inspiration for future content and campaigns

The Outcome

The series generated strong engagement and, more importantly, helped Dexter Lake Club Band clarify their “hook” and long-term point of view.

Instead of marketing themselves as just another wedding band, they now had a clear narrative:
They’re for couples who love music, love going to shows, and want their wedding to feel like a live concert with their favorite people.

With minimal lift—reusing existing assets and adding thoughtful storytelling—the campaign:

  • Increased engagement across social platforms

  • Attracted more aligned, music-loving couples

  • Established a repeatable content framework they can build on for future posts and ads

Client Impact

By anchoring their marketing in story and point of view, Dexter Lake Club Band now has:

  • A clearer brand voice

  • A recognizable narrative

  • Content that continues to work beyond a single campaign

Client Reflection:

Sharon is great at what she does. She has done video editing, facebook ads, and some photoshop for my business. Fast turn around and great quality. She listens to your vision, but doesn’t need you to make every small decision to get the job done. 5of5 experience. It is such a pleasure to work with you. Every time, even in spaces foreign to you, you are able to put it all together better than I could have imagined it.
